Up to £1000 for Leadership Development

In partnership with Train To Gain’s Leadership and Management Service, Finding True North are pleased to offer up to £1000 per organisation to develop the skills of leaders of UK businesses and charities. £30 million is presently available per year throughout the UK. At this time of economic uncertainty we are excited to be part of a programme to support and develop small businesses and charities.

The funding we are drawing on extends Train to Gain's previous offer to:

•include coaching and mentoring, that is to say bespoke training

•extend the range of qualifying businesses to those with 5 to 249 employees

•allow charities to apply too

Their research shows that the support most valued by SME’s at the moment is individual and group coaching.

For charities, including churches, the size limits are 10-249 employees (full-time equivalent) but the beneficiaries do not need to be paid staff (e.g. may include the trustees).

What’s on offer?

The first £500 is available to the “strategic leader” of the organisation for his/her own benefit. This will usually, but not always, be the CEO. This funding does not need to be matched by the organisation. Up to a further £500 is available for any of the senior leadership team (including the CEO) and has to be matched £1 for £1 by the organisation. We can arrange packages of around that value for one or two staff, or the funding can be put towards a much larger arrangement for more staff.

At Finding True North we particularly encourage individual and group coaching, sharing the view of Train To Gain that this is an ideal form of training for small firms. This is because coaching

•is tailored for the individual, developing the skills they need when they need them

•supports people to learn from their own experience

•builds relationship skills, individual effectiveness, and personal responsibility.
